The Afronauts

The Afronauts is one of the best Afrobeat bands in Poland! The group consists of eight musicians from various corners of the world, who capture the hearts of listeners from the very first note. The Afronauts is a project born out of a love for Afrobeat music, which blends African rhythms with jazz and funk, originally created by the legendary Nigerian musician Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Their emergence on the scene in 2019 generated energy comparable to a supernova explosion, and within a few months, they gained a massive following of Afrobeat enthusiasts.

The band’s style is shaped by the legacies of Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, and Ebo Taylor, although their own compositions from the outset combine Afrobeat with various other musical genres, such as Moroccan and South African music. The band’s mission is to promote the energy of Afrobeat and engage people in fun and interaction, regardless of their background, gender, or skin color.

Among the band’s achievements, it’s worth mentioning their sold-out concerts at the Alchemia club in Krakow and performances alongside the legendary Tuareg band from the Sahara – Tinariwen.
