A Polish-Moroccan fusion of styles and energy

Sun Followers is a unique Polish-Moroccan fusion project, blending elements of rap, funk, reggae, and world music. At its core, the group is composed of the talented rapper El Cabu and the Moroccan guitarist and vocalist Ayoub Houmann. With the support of David Albaaj, they launched their album “Droga” (“The Way”) in 2021, featuring collaborations with many exceptional musicians from around the world. The album’s sounds traverse from Senegal and Agadir to New York and Warsaw, resulting from the concerted efforts of numerous individuals.

What makes “Droga” stand out is its groundbreaking fusion of Polish rap with ethnic Moroccan music. The album’s eclectic mix of funk, reggae, and rap fragments defies categorization within a single genre, offering listeners an expansive journey through the diverse musical inspirations of the project members. Within this album, various musical styles harmoniously coexist, providing space for each other and simultaneously breaking down boundaries. The vocals are sung in Polish, Arabic, Berber, English, and even Jamaican Patois. “Droga” is a multicultural and eclectic album that exudes positive energy and carries a message of consciousness.
