Join us for two concerts featuring the legends of Saharan blues, Tamikrest! The Tuaregs are once again arriving in Poland to bring us the sounds of the desert, built on hypnotic, guitar-driven riffs.
Tamikrest serves as a musical bridge between Tuareg tradition and global sounds, shaped by the experiences of endless concert tours. Hailing from Kidal in northeastern Mali, fate led them into exile in Algeria due to war, persecution, and political crises. Their music blends dub, blues, psychedelia, funk, and even art-rock, crafting a compelling and poetic documentation of their journeys. Their third album, Chatma (2013), garnered acclaim, topping various music magazine charts and earning them the Best Group award at the 2014 Songlines Music Awards. During the May concerts as part of the African Beats series, expect to hear their finest tracks from all their albums, including selections from their latest album ‘Tamotait’.
